Get active & Join the March for Europe 2017!
17 February 2017 /
Nationalism and populism-prone voices are loud, giving the impression of an overly predominant, negative opinion regarding Europe. Yet, many of us, in quietness, still have trust in the EU’s relevancy. It is high time to rebalance the over-mediatisation of anti-EU ideas and inform the public that there is another side of the story, for which it might be worth mobilizing.
Are you fed up with populists and eurosceptics gaining ground with their speeches of division and fear? Are you tired of hearing national leaders serving their own interest? Are you expecting more ambition from our European leaders? We most definitely are! That’s why, while the European Summit gathers in the Italian capital on the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, we will call for a roadmap to relaunch and complete Europe’s economic and political unity.
With the Treaty of Rome, Europeans took the decision to organise their future together, as one strong community. By joining the March for Europe 2017, you can show that you believe Europeans should go forward together, you can show that while some promote divisions, spread hate and fear, we can shout louder, reclaim our European Union and make it stronger and better. Come to Rome, bring your banners, slogans and determination to march with your fellow European citizens. Speak up and express yourself on your t-shirts, caps or other signs.
If you cannot join us on that day, there are many other ways you can contribute to the march. Help us spread the word by talking to your friends and colleagues, post on social media or reach out to your local authorities for public support. Together, we can make a difference for a Europe that delivers on its promises of peace, freedom, security and prosperity. Let’s demonstrate our belief in a united and democratic Europe!
